A Look Back at Fortnite’s Witcher-Themed Training Ground

While the bell may have already rung its last chime at the Fortnite School of Llama, let’s take a moment to reminisce on this unique in-game event that ran from February 7th to March 7th, 2023. Inspired by the arrival of Geralt of Rivia in the Fortnite Battle Pass, the School offered players a chance to delve deeper into the Witcher’s world and earn some cool rewards along the way.

Four Paths to Mastery

The School wasn’t a one-stop shop. Instead, it boasted four distinct paths, each themed after one of the witcher schools: Cat, Griffin, Viper, and Bear. Each path presented a series of in-game tasks across Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, culminating in a special creator-made island challenge. Conquering these islands not only unlocked cool Witcher-themed banner icons but also contributed to an ultimate prize: the “School of Llama Emoticon.”

Rewards Fit for a Witcher

Completing paths wasn’t just about bragging rights. Each path came with its own main reward, ranging from the Witcher’s Silver Sword pickaxe to Geralt’s personal Lobby Track. And for the truly dedicated who mastered all four paths, Epic Games bestowed the “School of the Manticore Emoticon” and “School of the Wolf Spray.” Not bad for a few rounds of Fortnite, eh?

A Fond Farewell

While the School of Llama’s doors are now closed, its legacy lives on in the memories of those who honed their skills within its halls. It was a creative and engaging way to tie the Witcher franchise into the world of Fortnite, offering players a chance to earn unique rewards and deepen their connection to both games. Who knows, perhaps one day another fantastical training ground will rise in Fortnite, offering new challenges and adventures for players to conquer.
